Pait Contractors Inc.

Wilton Pait started the company in 1987 out of his basement. He was a retired communications technician with Bellsouth. He was contracted by Freightliner corporation to help design and facilitate a new communications system for one of their plants in Gastonia.

This start escalated to a maintenance contract between Pait Communications and Freightliner to handle all their communications, telephone, computer, faxes, etc. Wilton hired several technicians, and thus Pait Communications was formed. In 1997, Michael and Susan Pait, came over from Bellsouth as well and started the electrical division. Susan, our majority owner, was a retired power engineer for Bellsouth. We brought in electrical technicians and estimators, and thus Pait Communications and Electrical Contractors was formed. At the same time, we purchased a building in Belmont, NC, where our office would be headquartered and is still to this day. In 2000, we became a corporation and thus formed Pait Contractors, Inc.
